Hello, Good evening and Zraf all,
As you may have noticed, the above sentence contain a nonsense
syllable meant to evoke humor, slight confusion, and intrigue. As you also
may have noticed, this is a rambling paragraph and not a very organized
minutes list. So, if you put 2 and 2 together and came up with 22, you're
right friends, this is Mark writing you from the land of the postmortum
secretaries. It's nice here, the weather's great, and the duties are carpal
tunnel free. Well, I'll spare all the rambling and the myriad of politcal
comments and just give the facts this week.

OCTOBER 11th - THURSDAY - 7:00 PM - SU 386 -BIG BIG CONFERENCE FOR ALL
PAGANS, WICCANS, SOLITARY, DRUIDS, ASATRU, etc etc.

Basically, simply, moreover, and in a straightforward manner, this
conference is for YOU. That's right, you. No not the "usuals". They'll be
there of course (we put out food for em once and they just keep coming
back). But this Conference is for the amazingly high amount of Pagans,
Wiccans, Druids, Asatru, Dianic, Gardnerian, etc etc and most importantly
ALL THE SOLITARY Folk here at Uconn.
You see, rumor has it that many SOLITARY practitioners around Uconn
either don't know who we are or are uncomfortable with the idea of either
sharing their views or doing something they don't feel absolutely
comfortable with. Well, that's why this one is for you.
This is not your typical "discussion" where people may feel put on the
spot, this is not a circle or activity that requires you to know something
or believe something you think one of us may believe.
This is a Conference with Pizza and Soda. This is a place and an
opportunity for all who have been lurking in the shadows for so long to
come, to see that there are other Pagans around or others with Pagan
friendly beliefs around, to get free food and soda, to get information on
New Age stores, speakers, and Pagan festivals and such in the nearby states
and to basically just feel comfortable in a community that supports your
beliefs whatever they may be.
Do you have to be a self-titled Pagan to come? NO NO NO NO NO.
Anyone can of course come. The irony of Pagan beliefs is that most who have
them also feel they have very individualized spiritual paths and beliefs
therefore don't like being called Pagan. Others don't agree with anything
about Paganism but like the community. Some people just like the holidays.
Whatever belief system you have or whatever your feelings are on Paganism or
on the name of the club, you wouldn't be receiving this if something hadn't
caught your attention at some point. Is this conference limited to just the
people receiving this? Nope.
This is an Open Conference to anyone who wishes to come. We'll tell
people what the club is about these days and what it's up to and we'll give
you free food. The rest of what happens is up to those who come. If a
discussion or speakers are wanted we will have those, is questions wish to
be asked, we will answer to the best of our ability.
Ultimately, the Pagan Organization for Diverse Spirituality is a
resource for the Uconn populous. There are many solitary practitioners,
Wiccans or Pagans who may not want to be in a group but do want to have
contacts for various information, either for Reiki or Pagan churches, or
Duruidism or anything at all. A lot of people just like the community. So,
this is your opportunity. Come, have fun and ask as many or as little
questions as you like. We will have fun activities planned for those who
like fun (I know there are at least a few of you). And tell others you know
who are Wiccans or Pagans, or Solitary or even if they are just interested.
This club is for you. This night is for you. So use it. They'll be a lot
of people there coming for the first time so have fun and feel relaxed. If
you can't come or decide not to , I hope you still all delight in the amount
of Pentagrams and random advertising that will be done for this event. Even
if you are solitary, you're not alone.
Love, light and a million systems of belief,
Mark

SAMHAIN!!!! - MIT is having their usual Samhain circle this year which is
temendously big, wonderful and glorious. I highly highly suggest you all
come. It's on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 8:00 PM at MIT. We will have rides
available for those who need them.

P.S. This is my sort of political statement (oh, come on, just one). The
Muslims and those who look like Middle Easterners on this campus have been
harassed very badly lately and feel very scared and alone right now. Please
wear a green ribbon arm band to show support or go to www.freeuconn.org to
find out what you can do to help them. Make a cheap green armband if you
don't have ribbon and let them know that they are not alone.
